Denomination of origin: Baños de Río Tobía, Rioja Alta, D.O.Ca. Rioja, Spain.
Vineyard: Organic viticulture.
Variety: 100% Maturana Red, minority native variety of Rioja, authorized by D.O.Ca. Rioja in the year 2009.
Vineyard: Vineyard planted 10 years ago.
Soil: Vineyard planted at a height of 565 meters above sea level in terraces of southern exposure in the Najerilla Valley, with clay-calcareous soils of pebbles.
Elaboration: After de-stemming, the grapes are vatted in new barrels of 500 litres of French oak Tronçais in which performs alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation and aging. The wine remains in the barrels with the lees of fermentation for 11 months.
Aging: 11 months in new barrels of French oak Tronçais of 500 litres capacity.

Tasting notes: Important layer of cardinal purple colour. The nose is spicy with notes of chocolate and green pepper (the latter characteristic of the variety). The palate is voluminous with a refreshing acidity, velvety tannins and a long persistence.
