The verdejo grape of Rueda

The verdejo grape has been in the Rueda Denomination of Origin for centuries. We can approach the white wine saying that the aroma and flavour of the Verdejo has shades of low grass, with fruity touches and excellent acidity. The extract, personality factor of the great white wines, is perceptible for its volume and its characteristic bitter touch that projects in the mouth a sparkle of originality, accompanied by a great fruity expression. They are wines of great harmony, whose memory after passing through the mouth invite you to continue with the tasting.

Rueda is one of the few European wine regions specialized in the production of white wine and in the protection and development of its autochthonous variety, the Verdejo. The strong personality of the Verdejo, the adhesion of other varieties, as well as a vineyard that has learned to survive the harshness of its environment, almost hostile, to give the wine the best of itself, they shape the profile of Rueda’s white wines.

The white varieties allowed are:
Verdejo (the native grape variety of this DO.)
Sauvignon Blanc
Viura
Palomino fine
